English shadowing practice · 436 sentences · 23:46 long · 2356 words

About this practice session
This page turns the YouTube video “Our HOLIDAY in WALES 🏴 | Easy English 208” into an English shadowing exercise. The recording is split into 436 short sentences that you can play one at a time, repeat after the speaker and record your own version for automatic pronunciation scoring.
The speaker talks at about 115 words per minute, a moderate pace, with an average of 5.4 words per sentence. That makes it suitable for intermediate learners who want natural, everyday speech.
How to practise with this video
- Play the first sentence and listen while reading the transcript. Notice the stress, the pauses and where the intonation rises or falls.
- Replay it and speak along with the speaker, copying the rhythm rather than reading word by word.
- Record yourself straight after the original. ShadowEcho scores each word for accuracy, fluency and completeness.
- Compare your recording with the original, retry the words marked in red, then move on to the next sentence.
- Practise 10–15 minutes a day. Coming back to the same video after a few days is an easy way to measure progress.
Transcript (English)
- Hia, welcome to a new episode of Easy
- English. So, recently Easy and I took a
- short holiday to visit small towns and
- villages in the county of Pembrichshire
- in Wales, notably Fishgard and Cardigan.
- And we thought we'd bring you along for
- the ride. We hope you all enjoy our
- Wales vlog.

- So, this place is the home to
- celebrities such as Anthony Hopkins, Sir
- Anthony Hopkins. Sorry,

- Jones,
- Gareth Bale,
- and Michael Sheen.
- >> Interesting.
- >> And here we are, San Francisco.
- This is actually the beginning of the
- country, which we will enter soon, which
- is Wow. Wild.
- >> Wow. Wow.
- >> That there is the Prince of Wales or
- Prince William. Now his bridge. We don't
- take Prince Williams bridge. We're

- crossing over the River Seven.
- >> Wow.
- >> It's a beast.
- >> And off we go into Wales.
- Richie, are you still up for driving?

- >> Now, that's what we're waiting for.
- >> To the sea.
- That is the sea.
- >> Oh god. Oh god. Ah yeah. We win. We win
- the game of chess.
- So I thought I'd give you a little tour
- of our Airbnb. Uh cuz it's very cute and
- very traditional cottage style. You go
- through the little red gate.
- down a cute little garden path. Oh, ow.
- Should have put shoes on.
- Here's no waiting for us.
- There's a cute little stream that runs
- down the side of the house.
- How cute is that?

- Lily, what you doing?
- You being naughty
- and into our
- living room.

- these Oh, yeah. Also, they let you have
- dogs
- on the sofa as long as you put down a
- blanket. Nelly, are you at home?
- Leave me alone. But check out this fake
- fire.
- You have Oh, fire effect. And if you

- Park.

- >> Back on track.
- >> This will be something like a coastal
- walk with the peanuts
- >> and a public footpath.
- >> Oh god. Oh god.

- broken down.
- and go.

- >> Was it worth it?
- >> Absolutely.

- until now.
